The Mitchell & Kenyon Collection comprises 830 nitrate negatives dating from the first decade of the twentieth century. By its acquisition and restoration of this material the bfi National Film and Television Archive has doubled its holdings of early British film and now holds the third largest collection in the world of early film associated with a single company. The material on this DVD is taken from 28 hours of footage of scenes of everyday life and represents a cross-section of the subjects covered in the Collection.
