Based on the musical play by Joe Masteroff (book), John Kander (music) and Fred Ebb (lyrics), based on the stage play 'I am a camera' by John Van Druten, adapted from the book 'Good - bye to Berlin' by Christopher Isherwood. Winner of the 1973 Oscars for Supporting Actor (Joel Grey), Best Actress (Liza Minnelli), Art Direction, Cinematography (Geoffrey Unsworth), Direction, Film Editing (David Bretherton), Scoring, and Sound. Set in Berlin, in the early 30's the story centres around a cabaret performer, Sally Bowles yearning for stardom and her adventure with a young British graduate.
