- As outlined by an unseen, anonymous narrator, RED SORGHUM tells the story of the life between a woman and the narrator’s “Grandfather.” The woman is a bride-to-be en-route to an arranged wedding when she is saved from a bandit attack by one of the bearers of her sedan. After the untimely death of her arranged husband, she is reunited with the bearer and they endure continuos travails with banditry and war with the Japanese.
