Gender/Justice/Videotape: An Evening with Beyondmedia Education

with Beyondmedia director Salomé Chasnoff and youth filmmakers
Friday, February 15, 2008 - 7:00pm

Based in Rogers Park, Beyondmedia is a pioneering and award-winning media collective engaging the city's marginalized youth and communities to create socially transformative media. The program will include a discussion with young filmmakers and Beyondmedia director Salomé Chasnoff.

In Real Talk: Engaging Young Men as Allies to End Violence Against Women, young women ask "men to reflect on issues of violence, including street harassment, relationship violence, the media and how to build the movement to stop violence against women."  The short film Doin' It: Sex, Disability and Videotape features the Empowered Fe Fes, a group of young women with disabilities dealing with sex and sexuality.
