A University of Chicago and Chicago Film Seminar joint event to commemorate the work and life of the late Miriam Hansen, founder of the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. A short screening followed by a roundtable discussion with Hansen’s colleagues and former students and a reception will celebrate the launch of her recently published book, Cinema and Experience: Siegfried Kracauer, Walter Benjamin, and Theodor W. Adorno.
