Oscar-winning director Fernando Trueba (The Age of Beauty) and famed Spanish designer Javier Mariscal team up on this animated love story starring the music, culture and people of Cuba. Chico is a dashing piano player; Rita, an enchanting Havana nightclub singer. An epic romance unfolds as the pair travels the glamorous stages of 1940-50s Havana, New York, Las Vegas, Hollywood and Paris.  With an original soundtrack by renowned Cuban bandleader and composer Bebo Valdés, and music by jazz legends Thelonious Monk, Cole Porter and Dizzy Gillespie.

For the first time, the FSC and the Center for Latin American Studies collaborate with The Spanish Film Club to present a series of contemporary films from Latin America and Spain. This fall, head over to the Logan Center Screening Room to discover eye-opening new films from Brazil, Nicaragua, Mexico, Spain and Argentina.

The Spanish Film Club series was made possible with the support of Pragda, the Secretary of State for Culture of Spain, and its Program for Cultural Cooperation with United States' Universities.
