Benjamin Ruder has a background in live television and multimedia event productions. He completed “booth training” at an AMC multiplex in the mid 1990’s and returned to the booth a decade later as a part of the revival of Atlanta’s Plaza Theatre. At the FSC he is responsible for the equipment used to present digital media and film in the Center’s classrooms and screening rooms. He trains and manages a small team of student projectionists (with assistance from our staff projectionist) to present digital video, 16mm & 35mm film using the presentation standards expected of an archival facility. In his own practice, he performs 16mm film screenings around Chicago and maintains a film collection specializing in movie advertisements called Enjoy the Film.
