The FSC contains spaces designed for teaching and presentation of cinematic works and other visual media. When not in use for CMS courses, faculty and instructors campus-wide are welcome to book these rooms.
Two flexible teaching/screening rooms (C310 and C311) can be used by small groups (up to 25) for occasional course screenings, workshops, discussion groups, and meetings.
Both rooms are equipped with fixed Da-Lite 16:9 projection screens, Panasonic laser projectors, flat-screen monitors, Blu-ray decks, VGA and HDMI connections for laptops and other peripherals, 7.1 surround sound, blackout curtains, and movable seating. Reservations are accepted throughout the academic year.
In cases where these FSC spaces are not available, we recommend booking similar Cobb Hall multimedia classrooms through the Registrar's office.
The Center’s 100-seat screening room in Cobb Hall (C307) features large-screen projection of a variety of digital and film formats. The space is furnished with fixed proscenium seating and lectern with Blu-ray deck, AV controls, and VGA and HDMI connections for laptops and other peripherals. For most uses, the screening room is staffed by a member of our projection team. When available, the room can be booked for occasional course screenings or rented for public events by UChicago departments.
The Logan Center for the Arts' 129-seat black box screening room (LC201) features exceptional film and digital projection with fixed, raked seating and a stage for panels and speakers. The FSC holds course screenings and public events here throughout the year but does not handle external reservations for this space. Please contact the Logan Center staff for rental and booking information.
